CAMBODIA MEDICAL RELIEF MISSION
March 18 - April 2, 2005
This joint project of several nonprofit organizations based in the United States consisting of a small pathfinder team to provide medical and dental treatments to both the Cambodian and Vietnamese living in Cambodia. The team will provide care and collect information about the local health needs for subsequent missions. As reported in recent Associated Press news reports, Cambodia has been described as the “poorest of the poor” among Southeast Asian countries. It is even poorer than Vietnam. This project will help organize resources and expertise from several different groups to assist those in needs. Presently, volunteers from Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Georgia and California have shown interest.
If you are interested in lending a hand materially or financially to those who are much less fortunate than those living in comfort in the United States, then come and be part of our team.

About Vietcare International
Vietcare was started in 1998 by a small group of Vietnamese Americans who were former refugees. When they were in the refugee camps, each one of them made individual promises to return and provide the same assistance that they had received as refugees. Vietcare began its mission at the last "home" for Vietnamese refugees (the Vietvillage in the Philippines) by taking care of the remaining Vietnamese and proceeded to aid the Filipinos who lived in the surrounding communities. Vietcare aims to help other Vietnamese to learn how to form other volunteer groups so that they too, as Vietnamese refugees, can give back, contribute and continue the spirits that got them to where they presently find themselves.
