Leadership Conferences

The signature leadership program, Vietnamese American Youth Leadership Conference, aims to raise awareness of issues, provide skills necessary to participate in the solution process, and network interested persons with non-profit organizations. Our goal is to provide a forum for young professionals and students to network and build professional relationships to lead and strengthen the Vietnamese American and Asian Pacific American communities.

As of 2005, 181 young leaders from over 23 states and 3 countries have participated in the program.

Survey results indicate:

  • 69.2% use skills and knowledge learned from training
  • 38.5% increase in community involvements among participants
  • 28.2% have completed an internship

Some success stories include creating a social justice 101 college class, rehabilitating Hurricane Katrina damaged homes, organizing high school to college preparation seminars and conducting leadership training for peers.

  • Vietnamese American Youth Leadership Conference 2005 - "Exploring the Present, Building the Future"
  • Vietnamese American Youth Leadership Conference 2004 - "Celebrating Freedom"
  • Vietnamese American Youth Leadership Conference 2003 - "Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders Today: By Building Character, Leadership and Service Goals"
  • Vietnamese American Youth Leadership Conference 1999
