Founded in 1986, the National Congress of Vietnamese Americans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community advocacy organization working to advance the cause of Vietnamese Americans in a plural but united America – e pluribus unum – by participating actively and fully as civic minded citizens engaged in the areas of education, culture and civil liberties.

Vietnamese in U.S. Thriving, Striving
By the close of the Vietnam War, an estimated 135,000 people of Vietnamese descent had fled to the U.S. Today, that population has grown to almost 1 million. And according to the 2000 census, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with a combined population of more than 50,000 people of Vietnamese descent, ranks fourth among U.S. metropolitan areas in the number of Vietnamese residents.
