The Vietnamese American Community is growing in influence. As the Community matures, it needs dynamic young people with leadership skills and the vision to lead. Young Vietnamese Americans need to hone their talents by understanding the complex national and local issues that affect their communities, bridge the generation and cultural gaps, and lead by example.

VAYLC 2005 Group PictureThe objective of the Vietnamese American Youth Leadership Conference (VAYLC) is to create a venue where young people may share their ideas, values, and goals with one another. In order to influence policy decisions or political change at the national level, there must be a solid foundation of focused, grass-roots advocacy at the local level. VAYLC realizes that the enthusiasm and expertise needed to build the Vietnamese American community may be easily found among industrious young people and adults from all across the United States.

How can you benefit from VAYLC? Leadership and team-building abilities are undoubtedly the cornerstones for success. The presenters and speakers at VAYLC will share their own professional and personal experiences with you about the lessons they have learned, and teach you the skills you will need to unite your student organizations, to build and expand a non-profit organization, and to network in a professional environment. Speakers and workshop presenters will be available for you to engage and address specific concerns.
